Wednesday, July 28 at 7:00 PM: Afterwork – City tour “Hidden in the Corner” – the northern route – Little secrets between Odeonsplatz and Marienplatz

Seen it a thousand times, yet never really noticed it? The tours in the "Hidden in the Corner" series are aimed at those who already know Munich quite well, but actually don't know all that much about our city. How often do you rush along the pedestrian zone, meet up with friends at Marienplatz, or stroll along Residenzstraße after an opera visit? And most of the time, there's no time to notice all the small, endearing details that are often hidden just around the corner. I would be happy to breathe life into these courtyards, nooks and alleys, statues, memorial plaques, entrance portals, facade paintings, lettering, and decorations for you through my story(s), and hopefully ensure that these gems will no longer be overlooked in the future. We meander between Odeonsplatz and Marienplatz toward the city center, encountering the sacred and the profane, the scientific and the artistic, the contemporary and the traditional. We keep an eye on the latest changes in our city and talk about the people who have shaped Munich's history for many centuries. Saturday, August 7th at 9:00 am: The “Early Bird Tour” – eA cultural stroll through the Viktualienmarkt – small breakfast stops included!

What could be more beautiful than a morning stroll through the Viktualienmarkt and experiencing how the new day is welcomed with its fragrant, vibrant atmosphere? To avoid waking you up too early, we'll set off at 9 a.m. so we can gather our impressions without being disturbed by any late risers. Between the beer garden, stalls, fountains, umbrellas, butcher's row, maypole stands, and the Schrannenhalle, we'll explore the market's origins and reveal a few stall secrets. We'll cover a lot of history, as well as the generational change that's taking place in some places. With fresh ideas, even very young stall owners have been conquering the so-called "belly of Munich" for several years, without losing sight of cherished traditions.
Currently, food tastings are officially prohibited at the Viktualienmarkt. However, we will be able to make three short breakfast stops off-site. Therefore, the price for this tour is €22 per person (€15 per child up to 14 years old).
