Last weekend the time had come…
...and I was able to welcome many friends, acquaintances, regular customers, and people who were passionate about Munich on screen. Due to the sad circumstances surrounding the current situation and the associated cancellation of the Christmas markets in Bavaria, we had no choice but to bring the Munich Christmas market to our homes via Zoom.
Finally open the participation packages!
Luckily, I was able to support at least a few of the stall owners a little by packing their products into small gift packages. These could then be purchased and picked up from me before the tour, or I mailed them to the participants. And to complement the virtual Christmas market stroll, there were roasted almonds from Mandelhans, Christmassy scents, honey nougat from the Stey family, enchanting feather angels from Michaela Linder, real beeswax candles, and wintery baked goods. The Acktun family even lovingly packaged the Heilige Bimbam sauce for us.
Entertaining and interactive – almost like a real Christmas market
Guests could relax on the sofa while snacking and tasting. And, especially for the young and young-at-heart viewers, there were also a few interactive segments for them to join in the guessing. Thanks to the Zoom meeting software, each participant was free to choose whether they wanted to participate with video and audio or simply enjoy the show as a silent listener.
Even though nothing can replace a real Christmas market stroll, we at least tried to maintain Advent traditions together and reminisce about childhood memories! I really enjoyed it, and I'd like to thank you all for participating!
Merry Christmas! Your Grit
