Impressions

Description:

May I tempt you with this culinary tour of my city? Unlike the culinary tour at the Viktualienmarkt, we'll expand our radius here and dine our way through larger parts of the city center. You'll not only learn interesting facts about the famous sights, but also get to know traditional specialty shops and quaint restaurants. And while you savor a few delicacies, I'll be happy to share with you the little secrets that make not only Munich's specialties but also our culinary traditions so special—diverse, exciting, and above all, delicious.

This gourmet tour isn't a standard tour; it varies depending on the time of day, the season, and your group size. Of course, I'll tailor the tour entirely to your taste, budget, and specific requests. You decide whether you'd prefer a cultural city tour with a bit of culinary delights or a culinary tour with a bit of culture—although, you can't really separate the two. So just contact me so we can plan your tasteful Munich experience!

The most important things in brief:

Distance:
approx. 2 km

My tips for before and after our tour:

This tour can easily be incorporated into a perfect day in Munich, especially if you're feeling hungry, of course! Then simply continue your stroll through the Old Town. Or relax in the Hofgarten, where you can sit on a bench and absorb the Munich atmosphere. And if you'd like to add a little cultural enjoyment to this tour, simply stroll to the nearby Kunstareal, where the three Pinakotheken, the Lenbachhaus, the Glyptothek, and the Egyptian Museum await your visit. For those who'd like to burn off those excess calories, I recommend a lap of the Olympic Park, where the hills and rooftops are a particularly good place to jog.

Frequently asked questions:

Will you also learn something about Munich's city history during this tour?

You wouldn't believe how much history in our city is connected to pretzels and white sausages, and even more so to beer! Nevertheless, there's also plenty of interesting information about the churches, palaces, town houses, and squares that lie along our route. Nevertheless, the focus of this tour is on the culinary side. However, you are welcome to combine a regular historical city tour with this tour. Just contact me, and together we can plan a tailor-made tour for you.

Is the Viktualienmarkt also open on Sundays?

Almost all stalls are closed on Sundays. However, the beer garden opens on Sundays when the weather is nice, so you can sit comfortably there. Otherwise, there's something going on from early morning until late at night.

Can I book the culinary tour even if I have a small budget for food?

Of course! Because it's the little things that taste the best. And after all, nothing beats a crispy pretzel or a Leberkässe sandwich! I'm happy to plan just two or three small tasting stops, which will still liven up a tour of Munich and make it a sociable experience for your group.
