Giesing district tour – all the way up!

An entertaining walk through Obergiesing

Duration approx. two hours

Cost: EUR 18 per person

On our walk through Obergiesing, we not only hear about the multifaceted history of this idiosyncratic neighborhood, but also explore the diverse area surrounding one of our city's most striking hills. On Giesinger Berg, we marvel at spectacular church windows and enjoy the tranquility of an early, now listed, workers' settlement. Around the "Tela," we learn how, approximately 100 years ago, state-of-the-art architecture was welcomed into the workers' district, and how the former village center was virtually wiped out. Today, the popular neighborhood is known for its distinctive self-confidence and active bar scene, even though the so-called "underdogs"—just think of beer brewing or football!—still shape the image of this former working-class district.
