Cultural midday stroll at the Oktoberfest
Stroll through the Oktoberfest grounds when it's at its most beautiful!
Duration a good two hours
Cost: EUR 18 per person plus tasting (the exact cost is not yet known, probably around EUR 12 per person; an update will follow shortly)
On request, there is also a ride on one of the oldest traditional rides
On this walk, we'll take a look at the history and behind-the-scenes of the world's largest folk festival. We'll learn how small beer stalls evolved into today's beer temples, which attractions attracted Munich residents to the festival grounds 100 years ago, the long family tradition behind some of the rides, and what the first real Oktoberfest hit was. Between beer tents, shooting galleries, brewery carriages, historic carousels, balloon vendors, and infernal vehicles, even Munich residents can learn a lot of interesting and curious facts about the Oktoberfest. You can certainly enjoy a few Oktoberfest delicacies... and all under the protection of Bavaria!
