What my guests say

"In 2019, I booked a themed tour, "Munich – Capital of the Movement," for my class for the first time. Our guide that day was Ms. Grit Ranft. I would like to take this opportunity to thank her most sincerely for the friendly and knowledgeable tour. Ms. Ranft was attentive to the needs of the students and consistently involved them in the tour. She answered all their questions expertly, ensuring that all the students remained focused and engaged throughout. On behalf of the entire class, I can only express my gratitude and praise to Ms. Ranft for making the tour so interesting and informative. I wholeheartedly recommend her and, apart from the years affected by the pandemic, have booked her again every year. I have already booked her for our next excursion to Munich.

"The Christmas city tour was a thoroughly enjoyable experience! 🎄✨ The selected stops were exciting and varied – from historical sights to hidden, festively decorated corners of the city. There was a wealth of interesting and useful information, presented in an entertaining and engaging way.
A particular highlight was our tour guide Grit, whose relaxed and warm manner made the tour truly special. Her stories were informative, humorous, and delivered with great enthusiasm.
The successful mix of cultural impressions and cozy breaks with delicious treats and warming mulled wine was particularly enjoyable – perfect for getting into the Christmas spirit.
A thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended city tour – I'd gladly do it again! 🎅🏻🍷

"Our class spent the whole day with Grit on Monday, February 2nd, 2026. Although we were a bit lethargic in the morning, probably due to the language barrier (we're from Switzerland!), we quickly warmed up to Grit. The way she brings history to life, and how you can tell that this is exactly what she's meant to do, is truly impressive. At each of our stops, whether in the city itself or later in the afternoon in Dachau, she shared so much new information with us, always remaining immersive and trying to make everything more relatable, for example, with personal anecdotes. Everything was presented chronologically, which we greatly appreciated. The whole day was long, but incredibly informative. We learned a lot and are very grateful for your work! Thank you so much!

"Anyone who tours the MUCA Museum with Grit discovers not only exhibits but also new perspectives. Her guiding style is captivating; with passion and knowledge, she transforms a tour into an experience. We greatly appreciate her commitment to continually familiarizing herself with new exhibition concepts and exploring innovative paths with our museum.

"Grit was very competent and friendly. She was also able to tell us about things outside the main topic. Great! And all this in perfect weather 😀

"Friends gave us a tour of the Viktualienmarkt as a wedding gift, led by Grit. When she realized during the initial greeting that we buy most of our groceries at the Viktualienmarkt (and therefore know the market and its vendors very well), she spontaneously switched to a tour that could be described as: "Things even long-time Munich residents don't know." I consider myself to know Munich and the old town extremely well, but during Grit's tour, I learned so much that I had never known before.

Grit has remarkable historical knowledge and local expertise. That's why we always try to participate in the tours she offers (we've been on her tours in Haidhausen, Obergiesing, on the 100th anniversary of Hitler's Putsch, and twice at the MUCA) and are always impressed by her professional preparation and dedicated execution.“

"Dear Ms. Ranft, the guided tour focusing on the Baroque period was fantastic, and I'll be sending you the feedback cards from our students next week. They learned so much and are now working diligently on their Baroque studies. We created mind maps in the lesson immediately after the tour, and it was amazing how much the kids still remembered about each stop, often in great detail. That really highlights the wonderful clarity and engaging nature of the tour.

"The city tour was very exciting and interesting, even for someone who isn't usually a fan of guided tours – this one was truly excellent! We were there with our sports club, a group of about 30 people of all ages, and everyone agreed it was one of the best city tours they had ever taken.

"We've lived in Munich for over 50 years, and about five years ago we had the pleasure of meeting Grit on a city tour. Since then, we try not to miss any of her tours, because each of these walks allows us to discover and enjoy Munich as a city, its history, its districts, and its charming places to stop for refreshments, beer gardens, and all kinds of delicious treats. Thanks to these city tours, we feel more and more like true Munich locals with genuine knowledge of the city!

"Ms. Ranft was an authentic, pleasant, and very knowledgeable person. Her tour was perfectly tailored to our group. It covered all aspects, from art history and historical facts to entertaining topics.
We can highly recommend Ms. Ranft and would book another tour with her anytime.

"Excursions to Munich with school classes, accompanied and supervised by Grit Ranft, are days full of discoveries and new insights into the history and present of Bavaria and Germany. She is particularly able to convey the Nazi era to the students in a knowledgeable, detailed, and varied way, full of stories and emotions.
In addition, facilities and institutions of contemporary remembrance culture are visited and linked to current events.

"We've participated in several guided tours led by Ms. Ranft. Our children (8 and 12 years old) were particularly taken with the family tour. Some of the content was familiar to them from their fourth-grade social studies lessons, so they were able to contribute frequently. The tour is interspersed with little riddles and activities for the children to complete, making it a very varied and entertaining experience for them.
Ms. Ranft's narration is very apt and clear, making it a real pleasure to listen to. All in all, a fantastic tour for the whole family.

"The task presented a significant challenge in our eyes: how to engage a group of 10 students and young professionals with such diverse prior knowledge of Munich during a joint city tour? Ms. Ranft managed this seemingly effortlessly, as she had much to share even with Munich experts, revealing many unfamiliar facts, and she skillfully intertwined the city's history with recent events and the history of National Socialism. A highly interesting and engaging tour, delivered with humor and wit! Thank you so much for this wonderful tour.

"I've now participated in several tours organized by Grit. For example, the tour exploring the Art Nouveau architecture of Munich and the Giesing walk were always informative and entertaining, even for a true Munich native like myself. Her expert commentary and insights are highly recommended, and the concluding visit to a local pub after the Giesing tour perfectly rounded off the program.
There is a 100% recommendation for a guided tour with Grit.

"I can wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend a private tour with Grit Ranft.
I get all hearts in my eyes again when I think about our wonderful evening in Haidhausen with her. It was incredibly enjoyable to be out and about with such a charming tour guide. And I was also amazed by Grit Ranft's knowledge. Her relaxed and easygoing – yet highly informative and competent – way of presenting everything was worth every penny.
Haidhausen, a district I, as a native of Munich, already knew well from walks, restaurant visits, and beer garden visits, I was able to experience from a completely new and in-depth perspective. Historically, we went back to 1812 and, via the time of nuns and National Socialism, arrived in the here and now. I discovered things I hadn't noticed before and learned a great deal in the process.
In my opinion, it's well worth investing the money in a private tour. Simply gather friends, family, or colleagues, book Grit Ranft, and let her guide you through our beautiful, cosmopolitan city with a heart.

"Dear Mrs. Ranft,
I had the pleasure of participating in the tour of the Olympic Village today. It was simply a fantastic guided tour! You transported us so wonderfully into the world of the 60s and 70s that I'm still completely captivated by your vivid and engaging stories. Thank you so much for this experience!
Best regards

"We are a group of men who all have full-time jobs and usually have little time. We thought we'd do something different and, during our search, came across Ms. Ranft's website. We've lived in Munich for a long time, but like many locals, we know more about the history of Paris and Rome than about our hometown. The tour of Heidhausen was eye-opening for us! We had fantastic spring weather, and Ms. Ranft took us on a journey through history. We had a lot of questions, but Ms. Ranft was prepared for everything and gave us a very good impression of the district's development, including demographic changes, shops, squares, and people. We're already looking forward to the next opportunity to travel with Ms. Ranft and get to know new districts.

"I recently had the opportunity to participate in a virtual Oktoberfest tour. What could it possibly be, online and without the live experience? I thought to myself beforehand, and I was curious to see how it would reach the viewers via Zoom.
I was pleasantly surprised! Grit Ranft managed to conjure up the Oktoberfest experience almost live, right on my desk. This was achieved through excellent technical preparation in both sound and image, and also through the truly fantastic stories she shared. She knows her stuff and has plenty to say about the Oktoberfest landlords and their background, all presented in a charming and entertaining way. Grit Ranft's online Oktoberfest tour – 5 stars from me and a definite recommendation!

„"The Christmas market and Viktualienmarkt tour was a fantastic experience with interesting facts, exciting stories, and delicious treats. Grit Ranft tailored the tour perfectly to our team. Both the Munich locals and those from outside the city thoroughly enjoyed it. The tour was definitely the highlight of our company Christmas party and we highly recommend it!"“

"We and our team have been working in Munich's city center for 20 years. Many of us also live in Munich. So, taking a guided tour of our workplace was a bit of an experiment – because, of course, you think you already know most of it. Grit Ranft proved us wrong. With a wealth of historical and contemporary, fact-filled, and insightful stories about buildings, squares, market stalls, and memorials, she presented them in a highly entertaining and engaging way, revealing many new things and rediscovering some things we had forgotten. It's clear how much Ms. Ranft enjoys what she does. And how pleased she is when her knowledge is met with interest and appreciation. We thank her for a truly wonderful morning spent with her in Munich's city center.

"In the summer of 2020, as part of our GetYourGuide "Everything Right Here" campaign, we organized a bike tour through Munich with journalists, led by Grit and Radius Tours. The aim was to show local female press representatives their own city from new perspectives and to explore unknown places and stories within Munich's "urban jungle." Grit guided us with her extensive knowledge and friendly manner to fascinating corners of Munich – it was a fantastic tour.

"Grit and I have known each other for a few years now. We met when she stopped by our Christmas market with her culinary tours. There are some people you just click with, and that was the case with Grit and me. I love her warm, fresh, direct, professional, and open manner.
Over time, a friendly relationship has developed that extends beyond the tours, which I greatly appreciate. It's always a highlight for me when she visits me with her guests or stops by for a private chat.

"Our football club took part in the Oktoberfest tour – although due to Covid, there was no actual Oktoberfest – and everyone, young and old, thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was interesting, informative, and incredibly entertaining, and even for us Munich natives, there were plenty of new and unusual things to discover. From now on, we'll only book city tours with Grit; thank you so much for a wonderful Sunday afternoon!

"I recently joined Grit Ranft on her Art Nouveau walking tour through Schwabing. Her tours are lively, entertaining walks that wonderfully combine anecdotes and interesting facts. Time never drags while listening, your legs never get tired, and because the content is presented so well, you remember a surprising number of details. You're delighted with the new knowledge and afterwards see Munich with different eyes!"

Michaela Schachner

"Munich has so many amazing things to offer, including Grit Ranft, our city guide.
It rained on our second city tour with her, this time through the Art Nouveau buildings in Schwabing. But that didn't matter, because her personal style of narrating facts and anecdotes during the tour captivated us, making us completely absorbed in her presentation and forgetting everything else. We have rarely experienced a tour guide with such enthusiasm and will try to complete her entire program because it's simply so much fun.

"A lovingly and well-researched tour of a fair that we all sorely miss. I absorbed and imagined all the smells described. The clinking of dishes, the smell of fish on a grill, and the traditional music at the Russnrad (a traditional German folk festival) brightening the mood. Thank you very much, Ms. Ranft, for your hard work. Afterwards, my friends and I felt a little nostalgic. We washed it away with a glass of champagne and the hope of the next live tour with you. Lots of strength and energy to keep going.
Yours, Susanne Paintner
